Job summary

Fathom Robotics in San Diego, CA is seeking a Reliability Engineer to guide Level of Repair Analysis and failure analysis for uncrewed surface vessel systems. You will drive LORA and FMECA to define repair decisions across propulsion, autonomy, and communications hardware and software.

As part of a small technical team, you will develop FRACAS processes, sparing models, and readiness reporting, coordinating with Government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Real, hands-on experience conducting LORA analyses and FMECA/FMEA in an active program.
• Strong grounding in Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) principles and failure reporting/corrective action processes.
• Degree in systems/industrial/naval engineering or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) across sUSV subsystems, including propulsion, communications, and autonomy hardware and software.
• Build and operate FRACAS: capture failures, drive root-cause analysis, and track corrective action to closure.
• Conduct Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) as the basis for repair decisions.
• Develop sparing and inventory models for shore-based sustainment with no onboard storeroom.
• Coordinate with the technical team to keep maintenance procedures and readiness reporting aligned with analysis findings.
• Engage with Government stakeholders on technical reviews and program milestones.
