Job summary

SMX seeks a Maritime Project Manager to lead day-to-day costs, schedules, and performance for Global Defense programs. You will guide staffing, training, budgets, subcontracting, and property management while ensuring SOP compliance and progress toward contracts.

The role requires DoD TS/SCI eligibility, U.S. citizenship, and periodic travel to customer sites. Relocation assistance may be available for ideal candidates. Salary ranges reflect federal contracting norms.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI eligibility is required for the role.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in C6ISR or maritime operations preferred, with leadership background.
• Experience managing maritime operations and port logistics in leadership roles.
• Ability to brief senior government and industry leaders on status.
• Budget management and execution experience.
• Business development and technical proposal writing skills.
• Strong collaboration across internal teams and customers.

Responsibilities

• Allocate resources to complete projects on time and within budget.
• Track schedule and cost using QMS processes and report status.
• Develop program documentation and maintain production/quality metrics.
• Support business development and capture opportunities with customers.
• Identify and shape prime and subcontract opportunities for SMX.
• Coordinate operations and collaborate with government program managers.
• Oversee recruitment, staffing, training, and compensation under contract requirements.
• Ensure SOP compliance and address contractual issues as needed.
