Job summary

Hutco, Inc. seeks an experienced outside machinist to install, align and repair ship machinery. You will interpret blueprints and use precision tools to lay out passages for connections on bulkheads and decks, and align complex assemblies including gears, bearings, shafts, propellers and rudders.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in shipyards, can pass a drug screen and background check, and works onsite with occasional per-diem eligibility.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4+ years as outside machinist.
• Experience in a shipyard setting preferred.
• Candidates must pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, and repair ship machinery from blueprints using hand tools, calipers and micrometers.
• Align reduction gears, bearing, shafting, propellers, and steering engine assemblies.
• Layout passages on bulkheads and decks for connections such as shafting and steam lines.
