Job summary

HL Welding, Inc. in Norfolk, Virginia is seeking experienced Outside Machinists to perform mechanical overhaul, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of marine machinery, engines, and equipment in a demanding shipyard environment.

You will follow schematics and manufacturer documentation to inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, adjust, align, install, and test marine systems. Strong mechanical skills, safety focus, and flexibility to work varied shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Must have U.S. Citizenship.
• Minimum 4 years of experience as an Outside Machinist.
• Experience with marine machinery, hydraulic systems, valves, pumps and related equipment.
• Ability to read schematics, manuals, drawings and specifications.
• Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
• May be required to pass an on-the-job and written assessment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, adjust, align, install and test marine mechanical systems and equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, drawings, specifications and manufacturer documents.
