Job summary

Foss Maritime Company seeks a seasoned leader to direct offshore marine personnel and oversee vessel operations in the United States. You will supervise crews, interface with customers and regulators, and drive policy implementation and training programs.

The role requires a strong maritime background, compliance with USCG and SMS standards, and a proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and field projects while maintaining safety and performance across the fleet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years as a tugboat captain or shoreside management experience.
• Must possess a valid USCG Masters License or Mates License.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises all offshore marine employees.
• Interfaces with customers, marine & shoreside teams, vendors, pilots, and regulators.
• Develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures.
• Oversees hiring, crewing, promotions, and personnel placement; directs training.
• Audits vessel logs and approves overtime.
• Assists with tug/barge utilization and scheduling.
• Initiates corrective and/or disciplinary actions.
• Provides leadership for field projects including special shipments and salvage operations.
• Ensures vessel compliance with schedules and communicates plans.
