Job summary

Host Agency, LLC in New Orleans, LA is seeking an Associate, Operations to support vessel operations and port services. The role interfaces with pilots, tugs, linemen, US agencies, cargo interests and vessel owners to ensure safe, efficient in-port operations.

Entry-level position offering a springboard into the maritime field, with flexibility for field and office work and after-hours shifts based on vessel schedules.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service experience required; agency experience a plus.
• Transitioning military personnel encouraged to apply.
• Must have valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• ASBA agency certification or plan to obtain within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Board vessels at marine facilities and mid-stream locations.
• Coordinate berthing, pilots, tugs, and linesmen for vessels.
• Arrange vessel husbandry services within funding limits.
• Respond to email requests for ships and office traffic.
• Draft, execute, and dispatch commercial documentation promptly.
• Remain on call and adapt to after-hours schedule.
• Follow SOPs and seek guidance when needed.
• Travel to other ports to provide operations support.
• Assist in training and onboarding new team members.
