Job summary

Motion Recruitment Partners, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of complex engineering programs in maritime and nuclear sectors, located in Washington, DC onsite.

This role translates engineering objectives into actionable plans, coordinates multidisciplinary teams, manages work packages, and ensures deliverables meet safety, regulatory, and scheduling requirements while driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Systems Engineering, or closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of engineering/ project engineering or technical program management experience.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering projects from planning to delivery.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams concurrently.
• Strong understanding of scheduling, risk management, interfaces, change management, and deliverable tracking.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, risk registers, action items, and decision records.
• Coordinate engineering activities across multiple disciplines and teams.
• Plan and manage engineering work packages from requirements through closeout.
• Manage technical interfaces and communications with suppliers and external stakeholders.
• Prepare project status reports, risk assessments, and meeting summaries.
• Monitor performance against technical requirements, budgets, and regulatory expectations.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies and recovery plans.
• Lead change management activities and ensure proper documentation and lessons learned.
• Drive continuous improvement of processes, tools, templates, and reporting.
• Collaborate with leadership to ensure successful project execution.
