Job summary

Anduril Industries in Boston or Quincy, MA is seeking a Lead Mission Systems Software Engineer to design and lead the core autonomy software for our autonomous underwater vehicles. You will own the architecture, implementation, and deployment of the logic that enables these systems to understand their environment, navigate, and complete missions with limited human involvement.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background in robotics, CS, software engineering, or related field.
• Experience with embedded/physical device software development.
• Proven system architecture and leadership experience.
• Proficient in C++ or Rust in a Linux development environment; NixOS knowledge is a plus.
• Experience delivering distributed software platforms and customer-facing outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Own software for Seabed Sentry; lead architecture, implementation, and rollout.
• Manage a small team, set priorities, provide coaching and mentorship.
• Drive development processes for payloads and mission systems.
• Engage with customers to align technical designs with missions and requirements.
• Collaborate with product and program teams; ensure traceability to program decisions.
• Write and maintain core libraries used across robotics platforms.
• Travel up to 15% for in-field build/test/deploy activities.
