Job summary

Anduril Industries seeks a Lead Mission Systems Software Engineer for its Maritime team, based in Boston or Quincy, MA. You will design and lead the autonomy software powering autonomous underwater vehicles, directing architecture, implementation, and deployment of mission-critical logic with limited human intervention.

You will provide technical leadership across software development, roadmap execution, and cross-functional collaboration with program offices and customers.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background in robotics, CS, software engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, math or physics.
• System architecture experience required.
• Hands-on software development for embedded and physical devices.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and code optimization.
• 6+ years of professional C++ or Rust in Linux environments.
• Experience with NixOS.
• Experience troubleshooting remotely deployed software.
• Experience with distributed software architectures and dynamic networks.
• Ability to work holistically across software stack and lifecycle.
• Willingness to learn outside core discipline and impact-driven work.
• Experience engaging with customers on missions and payloads.
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration.
• Eligible for US secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead software for Seabed Sentry as the technical owner of an entire mission system.
• Architect and deploy the logic for autonomous underwater vehicle missions.
• Provide technical leadership, roadmap planning, and team alignment.
• Organize integration events and define key deliverables for programs.
• Oversee customer success through design and delivery of mission systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams to extend capabilities beyond current platforms.
• Develop core libraries for robotics systems (transformations, guidance, comms).
• Lead major feature development and rollout for Seabed Sentry.
• Travel up to 15% for field tests and end-user collaboration.
