Leidos Gibbs and Cox seeks an Electrical Engineer to support US Navy ship design and production efforts at the Newport News, Virginia office. You will work with engineering and program teams on change orders and planning to meet program milestones.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain a security clearance, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with strong analytical and communication skills. Proficiency in standard design tools and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance.
  • B.S. Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Technical proficiency in electrical engineering disciplines to provide guidance and review of products.
  • Solid organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proven collaborator with management, peers, and other staff members.
  • Proven track record interacting with customers regarding both technical and programmatic issues.
  • Figure-it-out-and-get-it-done mindset.
  • Proficiency in standard electrical system design and analysis.
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding oral, written and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calculations and apply engineering principles to marine vessel designs.
  • Communicate technical principles directly to client.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of analyses, calculations, and drawings.
  • Record and track action items and meeting minutes.
  • Create and manage meeting invites.
  • Review change proposals to meet specifications and requirements.
