Descripción de la vacante

Blue Ops - A Red Cat Company is seeking an Integration Engineer to unify mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems on uncrewed maritime platforms. You will install equipment, troubleshoot interfaces, and verify system performance from bench tests to on-water trials.

The role emphasizes hands-on design in a rapid prototyping environment, delivering practical, reliable integration solutions while collaborating with experienced engineers on broader system challenges.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, systems, or related engineering.
  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, hardware testing, robotics, or a comparable engineering role.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Must pass a background check and obtain/maintain DoD Secret security clearance.
  • Practical experience installing and troubleshooting electromechanical equipment.
  • Working knowledge of DC power, wiring, and basic control systems.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Experience using electrical test equipment and documenting troubleshooting findings.

Responsabilidades

  • Own the mechanical design of vessel structures, mechanisms, mounts, enclosures, and equipment packaging from concept through field-ready hardware.
  • Build detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies and maintain design intent as configurations evolve.
  • Create and release fabrication drawings with dimensions, tolerances, GD&T, materials, finishes, hardware callouts, and BOMs.
  • Perform structural analysis using hand calculations and FEA for loads, stress, deflection, vibration, and thermal effects.
  • Select materials, fasteners, coatings, and sealing methods for saltwater exposure and vibration.
  • Fabricate parts in-house using 3D printing, CNC, milling, lathe, sheet metal, and composites for prototypes.
  • Lead mechanical installation and fit-up of hardware on vessel platforms; verify clearances and serviceability.
  • Design for manufacturability, assembly, and maintainability to reduce part count and lead time.
  • Integrate sensors, communications gear, onboard computers, and supporting hardware on vessels.
  • Review equipment requirements and identify structural, mounting, power, and connectivity needs.
  • Support wiring harness assembly, inspection, and troubleshooting of low-voltage circuits and data connections.
  • Prepare installation instructions, interface docs, drawing revisions, and configuration records.
  • Develop and execute mechanical test procedures; record results and verify corrective actions.
  • Support bench testing, dockside checks, sea trials, and customer demos.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, shops, and suppliers on fabrication and lead times.
