Job summary

Trident Maritime Systems is seeking a General Laborer to support daily production, maintenance, and shipyard operations in Hampton, Virginia, near Newport News. The role requires safety-mindedness and the ability to work in an industrial maritime setting.

You will assist skilled trades, handle materials, and help maintain clean, organized work areas while following supervisor instructions and OSHA rules. This is a full-time on-site position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in shipyard, construction, or industrial settings is a plus.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Ability to safely operate basic hand and power tools after training.
• Dependable attendance and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist welders, fitters, electricians, mechanics as needed.
• Load, unload, move, and organize materials, equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Keep work areas clean and safe by removing debris and hazards.
• Set up and break down work areas, equipment, and materials.
• Prepare surfaces through cleaning, grinding, and sanding when assigned.
• Use basic hand and power tools following safety requirements.
• Assist with lifting and positioning of materials and equipment.
• Follow work orders, drawings, and procedures.
