Job summary

Next Generation Logistics in New Orleans is seeking a Financial Controller for the dredging division to lead the complex financial operations of marine projects. You will oversee month-end close, project costing, revenue recognition, and cash flow, partnering with project managers and operations. Requires 5-10+ years in accounting, CPA/CMA preferred, and proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel. On-site with no relocation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics is required.
• CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
• 5–10+ years in accounting or financial management, preferably maritime, dredging, heavy civil construction, or engineering.
• Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel; strong understanding of percentage-of-completion revenue recognition.
• Ability to bridge financial and technical operations and communicate with vessel managers.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close; prepare financial statements.
• Maintain cost databases for vessels, heavy equipment, and maritime materials; track variances against budgets.
• Establish, document, and enforce internal controls to safeguard assets and minimize fraud.
• Ensure compliance with statutory taxes and accounting standards; coordinate external audits.
• Support cash flow management and variation claims; collaborate with contracts teams.
