Job summary

SGS North America Inc. seeks a Field Technician I to perform field sampling aboard ocean-going vessels, harbor craft, and land facilities.

This role requires coordination with vessel crews and port agents to schedule attendances and transport samples to the lab while maintaining GLP standards for sample integrity. The ideal candidate has an Associate degree or higher in chemistry, microbiology, or environmental science and at least 1 year of related experience, plus the ability to lift up to 40

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in a relevant field or equivalent experience
• 1+ years of applicable field experience
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely
• Basic Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with vessel crews and port agents to schedule attendances and conduct sampling
• Transport collected samples to the laboratory for analysis
• Maintain GLP standards to ensure sample integrity and prevent contamination
• Work safely in port and industrial environments following all safety protocols
