Job description

Truestone, LLC is adding to the team and plan on hiring additional Shipboard & Inside Plant Installation Technicians (Level III) to join our Maritime Installation Team (MIT). Technicians in this pool will support critical multi-program requirements across naval and shore-based defense installations.

Initial assignments include supporting high-tempo Maritime Integration Team (MIT) tasking, inside plant cable installation and preparation for upcoming program rollouts, and technical integration/testing across fleet platforms (such as CTII and CIVMAR). Candidates will cross-train and flex between programs - such as CTII, TARCES, CIVMAR, SCORP, SEAWATCH, ILMS, and STRS3 - based on operational tempo and shipyard availability.

Responsibilities

Shipboard Installation & Integration:

  • Execute physical installation, removal, modification, and testing of shipboard C4I, electronic, and electrical systems in accordance with NAVSEA standard items, cableway specs, and engineering drawings.

Inside Plant & Infrastructure Preparation:

  • Perform cable pulling, multi-pin connector termination, rack populating, cable routing, banding, labeling, and pre-installation staging for inside plant communication suites.

System Testing & Grooming:

  • Assist in system-level evaluations, power checks, continuity checks, fiber/copper testing, and troubleshooting across active naval systems.

Workforce Adaptability:

  • Flex between multiple programs within the MIT operational group (CTII, CIVMAR, SCORP, SEAWATCH, ILMS, STRS3) as task schedules and shipyard milestones dictate.

Safety & Hazard Mitigation:

  • Strictly enforce site Emergency Action Plans (EAP), OSHA maritime standards, tag-out procedures, and environmental hazard precautions (e.g., proper handling of heavy blastproof/watertight shipboard closures).

Operational Reporting & Timekeeping:

  • Maintain accurate daily logs, report installation progress to site leads and Program Managers, and comply with strict Service Contract Act (SCA) time-recording standards.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma / GED and 4-6 years of progressive C4I shipboard integration or electronics maintenance experience (OR an Associate Degree in an engineering/electronics discipline with 2+ years of experience).
  • Proven capability to interpret complex NAVSEA/DoD installation drawings, perform independent troubleshooting, build complex harnesses/connectors, and oversee testing procedures.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and successfully pass all HireRight background checks (preference will be given to those with current Interim Secret or higher).
  • Shipyard Credentialing: Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted rapid access badging (DBIDS/Defense Biometric Identification System) for local military bases and private/naval shipyards (including Norfolk Naval Shipyard / NNSY and Newport News Shipbuilding).
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to work in confined spaces, climb vertical ladders, lift and carry up to 100 lbs, and navigate industrial shipboard deckplates in all weather conditions.
  • Schedule Flexibility: Willingness to support overtime, weekend work, and modified shift work (e.g., 4x10s and 2x8s) during high-tempo installation sprints.

This position is contingent upon contract award and funding. Applicants selected may be hired but cannot begin work until funding has been confirmed.
