Job summary

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Maritime Autonomy Engineer to advance autonomous systems for USVs and UUVs in challenging maritime environments. You will contribute to perception, planning, and control across the autonomy stack, translating operational needs into deployable software for real-world use.

You will join a multidisciplinary team and participate in architecture, prototyping, integration, field testing, and iterative refinement while collaborating with systems engineers, hardware

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of robotics or systems engineering experience in hardware, sensors, or circuits.
  • Experience with ROS or ROS 2 for sensor integration and system orchestration.
  • Proficiency in C++ or Python for embedded Linux and real-time robotics software.
  • Familiarity with perception techniques: sensor fusion, object detection, mapping (SLAM) or LiDAR/camera/sonar.
  • Knowledge of autonomous systems concepts including state estimation, localization, path planning, and feedback control.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement autonomous behaviors for maritime robotic systems.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across perception, planning, and control stacks.
  • Translate operational requirements into deployable autonomy software and modules.
  • Participate in architecture, prototyping, integration, field testing, and iterative refinement.
