Job summary

Prysmian Group is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee one or more manufacturing areas on a shift. The role ensures efficient equipment use, maintains production schedules, and delivers a quality product safely.

You will coordinate activities, plan for materials, and drive continuous improvement with a focus on lean methods. The position requires oversight of hourly staff, collaboration with multiple departments, and maintaining shift records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of basic manufacturing principles and proper application.
• Formal continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma, or lean manufacturing training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision over hourly associates and coordination with other departments.
• Plan work and production for the shift using current process and equipment knowledge.
• Ensure associates have necessary raw materials, instructions, machine availability, and training to meet production requirements.
• Observe and evaluate performance, safety practices, and efficiency to reduce scrap and waste.
• Maintain records on attendance, absence, and overtime; ensure manpower and equipment are ready to maximize quality and efficiency.

Summary: This position is responsible to the Manufacturing Manager for supervising and coordinating all activities of one or more manufacturing area(s) on a particular shift of operation. Assures the efficient utilization of equipment and manpower to maintain production schedules and produce a quality product in a safe manner. Coordinates production to meet production control schedules and maintains continuous flow of production; implements the necessary maintenance of equipment to ensure continuous production on an assigned shift.

• Direct supervision over hourly associates and coordinates with various other departments.
• Using thorough up-to-date knowledge of the process and equipment for which they are responsible, plans work and production for the shift.
• Insure associates have the needed raw materials, instructions, machine availability, and training to meet production requirements.
• Observe associates for effectiveness, efficiency, performance of safety practices, following instructions and procedures to reduce scrap usage and waste.
• Evaluate process, work performance on each associate and make recommendations.
• Keep records during each shift on attendance, absence, and over time schedule.
• Assurs that all the manpower, raw materials, and equipment is on hand and running in order to produce the highest quality product, in the most efficient, and timely manner.
• Perform other tasks that are reasonable to the job as requested by the Manufacturing Manager.

• High school diploma, Bachelor’s Degree preferred(Engineering or related field of study) 2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Understands basic manufacturing principles and demonstrates proper application Formal continuous improvement, Lean Six Sigma, or lean manufacturing training preferred Efficient in Microsoft Office products (i.e. Outlook, Excel, etc.) Good written and oral communication skills.
• A results driven individual who has demonstrated ability working in a fast paced, high performance manufacturing environment.
