Job summary

Orion is seeking Welders for our field construction operations to support marine and heavy civil projects. As a self-performing contractor, Orion relies on skilled craft professionals to build and maintain essential infrastructure for ports, waterways, bridges, and waterfronts.

Our Welders work with Pile Drivers, Carpenters, Crane and Heavy Equipment Operators, and other trades on docks, wharves, and bridges.

Qualifications

• Two years of welding experience or equivalent.
• Must pass standard welding tests.
• Ability to stick weld in all positions.
• Able to read welding blueprints and sketches.

Responsibilities

• Weld, cut, grind, and clean metal for marine yard projects.
• Operate oxy-fuel cutting torch and related equipment.
• Weld sheet piles and metal components as required.
• Rig cables and position steel plates and piles with cranes or hand tools.
• Inspect and service welding equipment; report needs.
