Summary

Join HII as we keep the world's most powerful Navy afloat! This position is located in Norfolk, Virginia. The selected candidate will perform corrective and preventative maintenance, mechanical operation, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, and assessment in support of Maritime Special Operations Forces Support (MSOFS) Watercraft.

What You Will Do
  1. Provide field service representatives to perform minor equipment modification, installation of equipment, and maintenance of SOF equipment at the Echelon II level and below.
  2. Support specialized equipment including Combatant Craft variants, SOC-R, RHIBs, Maritime Combatant Craft Aerial Delivery System, SEAL Delivery Vehicle, dry deck shelter, ground mobility vehicles, and other tactical equipment.
  3. Train and instruct on equipment and platforms as needed.
  4. Perform corrective and preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and material assessment in accordance with OEM specifications.
  5. Serve as the primary point of contact for problem resolution and liaise with the Government.
  6. Ensure contract deliverables are submitted accurately and on time.
  7. Make decisions related to the Expeditionary Equipment Readiness Services Support program.
What You Must Have
  1. High School education or Trade School with 6 years of related experience.
  2. Own hand tools as designated per trade.
  3. Current DoD Secret Clearance; ability to obtain Top Secret clearance.
  4. Minimum 5 years' experience in marine propulsion, power generation, operations, maintenance, repair, or inspections.
  5. Experience as a factory certified mechanic on Suzuki DF250APXX outboard engines.
  6. At least 5 years' experience as OEM certified mechanic with Evinrude, Honda, Mercury, or Yamaha outboard engines.
Preferred: Bonus Points For
  1. Experience with Cummins Diesel Engines and related manuals.
  2. Experience in aluminum and GRP hull repair at the depot level.
Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift at least 30 lbs, work in extreme environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, confined spaces, and possibly at sea for extended periods. May require respirator use and travel.
