Job summary

The Hanover Insurance Group in Bloomington, MN, seeks an Underwriting Associate to support Marine underwriting on a hybrid schedule (2x in-office per week). This full-time role focuses on new business, renewals, and policy servicing, coordinating with Billing, Premium Audit, Claims, and Agency Licensing to ensure a seamless process.

One to two years of Commercial Lines experience and an Associate's degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of Commercial Lines/Specialty insurance experience.
• Fundamental underwriting practices, workflows, systems & tools.
• Robust knowledge of product offerings and solid business acumen.
• Strong analytical, organizational and detail-oriented skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Underwriter in new business and renewal activities.
• Account preparation: data collection and file documentation.
• Assist with quoting and issuance cycle.
• Update work management system statuses throughout the policy cycle.
• Document new and renewal accounts with underwriting tools and information from outside resources.
• Handle legal notice requests as directed.
• Assist with cross-training UA teammates.
• Build strong relationships with agents and internal partners to support growth.
