Job summary

Sun Terminals seeks a Port Handy Man to perform general maintenance across Port Everglades facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting. You will inspect, repair, and maintain doors, gates, and infrastructure in a fast-paced marine terminal environment.

Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined with 2+ years in maintenance, strong problem-solving, and the ability to work safely with hand and power tools. This is a full-time on-site role at Port Everglades, Fort Lauderdale.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain and maintain TWIC credential.
• Minimum 2 years in general maintenance, facilities maintenance, construction, handyman, or related experience.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve routine maintenance issues.
• Ability to read and follow basic instructions, work orders, diagrams, and equipment manuals.
• Valid Florida Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to complete required background screening and pre-employment steps.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across terminal facilities, offices, and yards.
• Conduct routine facility inspections and address safety concerns.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Identify issues early and report to management.
• Assist preventive maintenance programs and project work.
• Maintain the appearance and functionality of assigned areas.
