Job summary

JBYS is seeking an experienced technician with expertise in Volvo diesel engines and/or Mercury outboards to support our expanding Great Lakes service operation.

Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Volvo D6-D13 engines and Mercury 450/600 outboards, performing warranty repairs and software updates, providing accurate estimates, and traveling regionally to support customers and marine projects.

Qualifications

• Experience with Volvo Partner Network and MerNet.
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to work independently in the field.
• Professional tools required; basic mechanic tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain Volvo D6-D13 diesel engines and Mercury 450/600 outboards.
• Perform warranty repairs, software updates, bulletins, and manufacturer campaigns.
• Provide accurate service estimates and repair recommendations.
• Coordinate with customers, service managers, manufacturers, and warranty personnel.
• Support vessel commissioning, maintenance, and repair on boats 40′ to 74′.
• Travel regionally to support customers as needed.
