Job description

Marine Mechanical Technician

Overview:
New Orleans, LA: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Mechanical Field Technician with experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, preferably in the marine or automotive field. This is a field-based position involving travel, with trucks and per diem provided. Candidates must be able to start ASAP.

Essential Duties:

1. Troubleshoot and service mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems
2. Work on marine equipment, including davits, winches, steering systems, and throttle control
3. Build and repair motors in a fabrication and machine shop setting
4. Operate skid steers and forklifts as needed
5. Travel to various field sites including New York and Tampa for 2 days to 2 weeks at a time
6. Represent FTS on-site with professionalism and reliability

Requirements/Skills:

1. Able-bodied, hardworking, and mechanically inclined
2. Reliable, listens well, and works independently
3. Entry-level and experienced candidates encouraged to apply
4. Must have own tools (wrenches, socket set, screwdrivers)
5. Experience with marine power systems and/or automotive mechanics
6. Comfortable working in a field environment

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be physically able to work in the field and handle tools and equipment
2. May involve lifting, climbing, and other physically demanding tasks
3. Must be willing to travel for extended periods
