Skier’s Marine is seeking a detail-oriented Marine Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and inspection services on a wide range of boats and marine engines in our service department. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for ensuring that every vessel operates at peak performance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; marine tech certification/degree preferred.
• Experience as marine technician or mechanic with marine engines knowledge.
• Proficient with diagnostic tools and repair equipment; strong problem-solving.
• Certifications such as Marine Mechanics Certification are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on marine engines and systems.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools.
• Inspect boats and engines for safety and performance standards.
• Provide estimates and recommendations to customers; document work.
• Order and manage parts inventory; coordinate with team.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Marine Technician to perform maintenance, repair, and inspection services on a wide range of boats and marine engines. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for ensuring that every boat performs at its best.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintenance and Repairs: Perform routine maintenance and repair work on various marine engines and systems, including electrical, mechanical, and propulsion systems.
• Diagnostics: Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
• Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of boats and engines to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
• Customer Service: Communicate with customers to explain repair needs, provide estimates, and offer recommendations for maintenance or upgrades.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all service work performed, including parts used, labor hours, and any additional findings.
• Compliance: Ensure that all work adheres to manufacturer specifications and industry regulations.
• Parts Management: Order and manage parts inventory as needed to perform repairs and maintenance efficiently.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and service staff to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; certification or degree in marine technology or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience as a marine technician or mechanic, with a strong understanding of marine engines and systems.
• Skills: Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment; excellent problem-solving abilities; strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., Marine Mechanics Certification) are a plus.
• Passion: A keen interest in boating and marine technology is highly desirable.
• High school diploma or GED is required
• Associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred
• Automotive Service Excellence/ASE certification or Society of Automotive Engineers/SAE certification is preferred
• Strong customer service and communication skills are required
