Job summary

Skier's Marine Inc. seeks a skilled Marine Technician to perform maintenance and repair on inboards, I/O’s, and outboards at our Smith Lake shop. You will deliver high-quality service, ensure boats are lake-ready, and work quickly to meet customer timelines.

The role requires a high school diploma, boating experience, and 2+ years in marine or automotive service. Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required. Equal opportunity employer.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, and repair inboards, I/O’s, and outboards both in the shop and on the water.
• Perform scheduled maintenance, pre-delivery inspections, winterizations, and summerizations.
• Complete repairs and installations such as fuel system cleaning and engine outdrive work.
• Lake test boats to verify functionality and confirm repairs.
• Maintain accurate service records and communicate progress to the Service Coordinator.
• Keep workspace clean and organized; assist with boat show prep and training.

Position Summary

The Marine Technician delivers an exceptional service experience for all customers by performing high-quality maintenance and repair work at a fair price, while adhering to customer time frames. This position plays a key role in ensuring that every boat leaving our shop is lake-ready and performing at its best.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Diagnose, service, and repair inboards, I/O's, and outboards both in the shop and on the water
• Perform scheduled maintenance, pre-delivery inspections, winterizations, and summerizations
• Complete repairs and installations such as:
  • Fuel system cleaning
  • Engine and outdrive R&R
  • Custom stereo, jack plates, and tower installations
• Lake test boats to verify functionality, diagnose issues, and confirm successful repairs
• Communicate effectively with the Service Coordinator regarding diagnostics, parts needs, and repair progress
• Maintain accurate time and service records
• Keep work area and tools clean, organized, and in proper working condition
• Assist with boat show preparation and move-in as needed
• Attend manufacturer and service training annually to maintain certifications

Experience and Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
• Boating experience and a valid boater's license are preferred
• 2+ years of experience in marine or automotive service preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a customer-first attitude.
