Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking a motivated Marine Structures Engineering Intern for Summer 2027. The internship runs a 40-hour week over at least 10 weeks, with a dedicated supervisor and mentor and planned activities.

The role offers exposure to design, construction administration, and multidisciplinary marine projects, with an emphasis on learning and developing engineering skills under supervision.

Qualifications

• Entry-level internship in marine structures engineering.
• ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Interest in structural design and development of construction drawings for marine structures (piers, bulkheads, docks).
• Assist with plans, investigations, surveys, or equipment related to marine and waterfront engineering.
• Support design, materials testing, preparation of specifications, process studies, and reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on multidisciplinary marine design/engineering projects.
• Provide support by preparing calculations, drawings, and documentation as directed by engineers.
• Incorporate feedback from Project or Technical Managers and adjust work products accordingly.
• Complete assignments on time within established schedules.
• Exposure to design, construction administration, and bid phase services is a plus.
