Job summary

KCI Technologies, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Structural Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to join the Bridge Structures team. The internship runs for 10 weeks, with a 40-hour week schedule and a dedicated supervisor and mentor to guide you through assignments and field activities.

Interns will gain hands-on experience in bridge design, modeling, inspection, and documentation while collaborating with multidisciplinary professionals on real-world projects.

Qualifications

• This is an entry level position with no previous experience required.
• Currently enrolled in an ABET-Accredited College Engineering Program.

Responsibilities

• Assist with structural design calculations, drawings and specifications for bridges under senior engineers.
• Support structural modeling and analysis tasks.
• Participate in inspection activities including field data collection, reporting and documentation.
• Review construction and shop drawings for compliance with design intent.
• Accompany engineers on site visits to observe construction progress and verify field conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering disciplines.
• Assist with preparation of project reports, cost estimates and proposals.
• Gain exposure to industry design standards and requirements.
