Job summary

Ameri-Force is seeking a Structural Welder for full-time work at our Norfolk, VA site to perform production welding on marine vessels, including US Naval and commercial ships. The role covers layout, fabrication, fitting, and welding of metal plates and structural parts per specifications.

Qualified applicants will have 5 years of shipyard welding experience, be able to pass required tests, and understand ship repair terminology. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Must have 5 years of recent experience working in a shipyard as a structural welder.
• Must be able to pass all administered tests prior to being hired for the position.
• Must possess a working knowledge of ship repair terminology and test requirements.

Responsibilities

• Weld on ships or in a shop to support structural repairs and modernization.
• Layout, fabricate or repair metal plates and structural parts per specs.
• Set up welding machines and weld in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and comply with PPE requirements.
