Job summary

Brunswick is seeking a Software Validation Engineer to join the Software Validation team. You will design and execute tests for engine software, pc-based diagnostic tools, helm controllers, and mobile apps.

The role requires collaboration with software developers, clear defect documentation, and the ability to work across projects with minimal supervision. You will perform automated testing and contribute to validation strategies across embedded, Windows, and mobile environments in a marine

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 5 to 10 years of software validation, system verification, or quality assurance in embedded, desktop, or mobile software.
• Experience with issue tracking, technical requirements docs, Gantt charts, SharePoint, Azure DevOps, and SVN.
• Experience validating embedded control systems, mobile apps, and/or Windows-based software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to document tests, results, and issues clearly.
• Ability to think at the system level, understanding hardware/software/user interactions for validation strategies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to reproduce and resolve complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans for embedded controllers, Windows apps, and mobile apps.
• Perform regression, exploratory, integration, and system testing across platforms.
• Document defects and communicate results to Software Engineering.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers to investigate and resolve issues.
• Conduct testing in simulated labs and real-world marine applications to ensure quality.
