Job summary

Brunswick Corporation – Mercury Marine in Oshkosh, WI is seeking a Software Validation Engineer to design and execute testing for engine software, diagnostic tools, helm controller software, and mobile apps. You will document issues clearly and collaborate with the software team on troubleshooting and validation.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in software validation across embedded, desktop, or mobile environments, plus experience with issue tracking, requirements docs, Azure DevOps, and SVN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline.
• 5–10 years in software validation for embedded/desktop/mobile.
• Experience with issue tracking, requirements docs, Azure DevOps, and SVN.
• Strong communication and system-level thinking.
• Experience validating embedded controls and Windows/mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for embedded controllers, Windows apps, and mobile apps.
• Perform regression, exploratory, integration, and system-level testing across platforms and control systems.
• Document defects clearly and communicate results to the Software Engineering team.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers to investigate and resolve issues identified during testing.
• Conduct testing in simulated and real-world marine environments to ensure reliability and quality.
• Verify releases meet functional requirements before deployment.
