Job summary

Boater's World Marine Centers in the Albany area is seeking an experienced Marine Rigger to join our service team. This hands-on role covers rigging, engine installations, electronics, and final setup before customer delivery.

The ideal candidate has prior marine rigging experience, understands both mechanical and electrical boat systems, and takes pride in clean, organized installations that function safely and correctly before the boat leaves the dealership.

Qualifications

• Previous professional marine rigging experience, preferred.
• Experience installing and rigging outboard engines.
• Strong understanding of marine electrical systems (12V/24V).
• Experience installing marine electronics, steering systems, gauges and accessories.
• Hands-on troubleshooting ability and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and manufacturer service information.
• Comfort with hand/power tools and marine testing equipment.
• Detail-oriented with pride in clean, professional installations.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform outboard engine rigging and installation to manufacturer specs.
• Install and configure throttle/shift controls, gauges, wiring harnesses and components.
• Install hydraulic/mechanical steering systems and ensure clean wiring.
• Route and secure wiring for professional installations.
• Complete system checks and testing for proper operation.
• Install GPS, fish finders, chartplotters, transducers and other marine electronics.
• Troubleshoot 12V/24V electrical systems and electronics.
• Prepare boats for customer delivery and ensure quality standards.
• Document work and parts used, and coordinate with service leadership.
