Job summary

Fairbanks Morse is seeking an Application Engineer to support engine sales for power systems and propulsion solutions. You will provide technical expertise, accurate configurations, and cost estimates to aid sales targets.

Responsibilities include developing technical proposals, analyzing RFIs/RFPs, and delivering scoped specifications. Travel up to 25% is expected; strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

Education as stated: Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Marine, or Electrical Engineering.
Experience in technical sales support, applications engineering, or systems engineering.
Familiarity with diesel engine/generator systems is preferred.
Experience interpreting RFIs/RFPs and producing technical documentation.

Responsibilities

Act as primary technical expert for customers and projects.
Develop comprehensive technical proposals for power systems and propulsion solutions.
Analyze RFIs/RFPs to define technical scope and compliance.
Create detailed technical specifications and scope documents.
Provide sales technical support during customer meetings and industry events.
Coordinate with product engineering on configurations and risks.
Communicate requirements to supply chain and quality teams.
Contribute to timely, high-quality technical deliverables.
