Job summary

In this role you will shape base configurations, define solutions for proposals, and assess project technical risks during the commercial phase, collaborating with sales, engineering, procurement, and field service teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years in technical sales support, applications engineering, or systems engineering.
• Strong understanding of diesel engine and generator set systems, marine power solutions, or complex fluid systems.
• Proficiency in interpreting RFIs/RFPs and producing clear technical documentation (specifications, scope documents, compliance matrices).
• Familiarity with ABS rulesets, USCG ACP, and MIL-SPECs is preferred.
• MS Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); AutoCAD and SolidWorks required.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical expert for customers, addressing needs and resolving inquiries.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, engineering, procurement, and field service to develop comprehensive technical proposals.
• Analyze RFIs and RFPs to define technical scope, requirements, and compliance matrices.
• Develop detailed technical specifications, scope of work documents, and performance guarantee points for proposed solutions.
• Provide expert technical support during the sales process, including participation in customer meetings and industry events.
• Liaise with product engineering to define system configurations and modifications from standard designs for proposals.
• Coordinate with supply chain and quality teams to ensure accurate proposal content.
• Contribute to proposal templates and technical sales tools for efficiency and consistency.
• Contribute to achievement of sales targets through timely, high-quality technical proposals.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration across marine sales and engineering teams; embody Integrity, Velocity, and Teamwork.
