Job summary

Saronic Technologies in Louisiana seeks skilled pipefitters and welders to join our shipyard team. You will read blueprints, plan pipe layouts, and fabricate components for vessel construction and repair.

The role requires proficiency in SMAW, MIG and flux-core welding, rigging, and working at height. On-site training is provided, and you will collaborate with welders, fitters, electricians to maintain production flows.

Qualifications

• Read, interpret, and follow blueprints and sketches to understand project specs.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with attention to detail.
• Fabricate and assemble pipe systems per specifications.
• Ability to use rigging equipment and work aloft in confined spaces.
• Proficient in SMAW, MIG, FCAW welding processes and multi-pass welds.

Responsibilities

• Cut, fit, and weld metal structural parts per drawings.
• Tack welding foundations and secure parts for assembly.
• Use oxy-acetylene torch and welding processes as required.
• Fabricate components, cut pipes, and bevel as needed.
• Inspect and test installed systems with gauges and hydrostatic testing.
• Install fittings, pipes, flanges, and ship machinery according to specs.
• Collaborate with welders, fitters, electricians to maintain workflow.
• Maintain a safe, clean work area and follow PPE and confined-space policies.
