This position is responsible for ensuring marine technicians, yard personnel, and on-the-water crews have the correct parts and supplies available when needed. Responsibilities include parts identification and sourcing, receiving, inventory management, purchasing coordination, and accurate tracking of parts used on service work orders.

The ideal candidate understands marine parts and mechanical systems, stays organized in a busy service environment, and takes ownership of keeping work moving efficiently.

This is a hands-on, individual-contributor position, not a supervisory warehouse management role.

  • Compensation:Competitive hourly pay based on experience
Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain an organized, secure parts storage area with clearly identified inventory locations.
  • Monitor frequently used parts and seasonal supplies, including filters, zincs, impellers, and other common maintenance items.

  • Coordinate heavy deliveries and material movement with authorized equipment operators.
  • Process incorrect shipments, damaged parts, supplier returns, warranty items, and core returns as needed.
  • Ensure technicians receive the appropriate parts for scheduled repairs whenever possible.

  • Ensure parts issued to technicians are accurately assigned to the appropriate service work orders in QuickBooks.
  • Record stocked parts and materials that have not already been entered on repair orders.

  • Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, supplier responsiveness, and parts costs.
  • Take on additional purchasing responsibilities, vendor relationships, and sourcing activities as the position develops and operational needs change.
Retail Parts & Customer Support
  • Coordinate with the marina's separately managed retail parts operation regarding shared inventory, product availability, and purchasing needs.
  • Pick, verify, package, label, and ship designated retail parts orders fulfilled through the shared parts inventory.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory transfers and assist with associated returns.
  • Occasionally assist service and retail customers with parts identification and compatibility questions.
  • Provide technical parts assistance for Suzuki marine products in support of the marina's authorized Suzuki dealership operations.

This position supports retail parts activities but does not manage retail sales.

Qualifications

  • Ability to identify marine components and verify proper fitment and compatibility.
  • Experience reading manufacturer parts diagrams, catalogs, model numbers, serial numbers, and technical specifications.
