THOR Solutions is actively seeking a highly motivated mid-level Marine Mechanical Engineer (Propulsion) to support the United States Coast Guard (USCG)'s Ship Design Team in Baltimore, MD. An ideal candidate will have prior experience with one or more of the following: ship propulsion and control systems, machinery arrangements, weight assessments, and/or conducting trade studies on the configuration of propulsion and associated components, as well as familiarity with U.S. Federal or commercial shipbuilding programs, standards, and regulations.
Full time onsite at USCG Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC) in Baltimore, MD.
Up to 10% travel is anticipated for ship checks.
Primarily desk/computer work in an office environment. May involve: repetitive motion. Periodic visits to waterfront/shipboard environments. May involve: traversing shipboard environments (e.g., confined spaces, ladders, hatches) or vision.
The anticipated pay range for this position in the identified location(s) is $80,000 - 110,000. Actual compensation offered will be based upon individual factors including education, qualifications, and experience.
This position requires eligibility for a Secret security clearance, to be obtained after hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance; therefore, only current U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
