Job summary

Allen Marine Tours in Juneau, AK is hiring a Marine Mechanic I to perform maintenance and repairs on marine diesel and gas engines and related systems on vessels 19–200+ feet. The role is on-site and includes training junior staff and leading diagnostics.

Ideal candidates have high school or equivalent, 6+ years in marine mechanics, experience with analog/electronic systems, and the ability to travel to other Alaska ports. A security background check and DOT drug test are required.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Experience with analog and electronic systems.
• 6+ years of experience in marine, heavy diesel or related mechanical field.
• Ability to travel periodically to other ports in Southeast, AK for repair projects.
• Must pass a security background check and DOT drug test.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and troubleshoot diesel, gas and propane engines, generators, jets, shaft, pumps and propellers.
• Repair and maintain hydraulic equipment and valves.
• Fabricate and install brackets and manifolds.
• Install piping and bathroom fixtures.
• Run fuel lines, wiring harnesses and control cables.
• Rebuild/overhaul/repair diesel and gas engines using manuals and schematics.
• Lead, coach and assist junior team members.
• Maintain accurate work-log and keep the facility organized.
