Job summary

Ulysses in San Francisco is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to design and build tooling and test infrastructure for our Mako production line.

You will develop fixtures, jigs, racks, and automated test rigs, write software to sequence tests, and ensure repeatable, high-quality assembly from first part to final unit.

This role unites mechanical, electrical, and software work on a fast-moving bench, with ownership from concept to in-line deployment and field readiness.

Qualifications

• You've built production tooling, test rigs, or lab equipment.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Mechatronics Engineering.
• Proficient in CAD and tooling designed for in-house machining.
• Able to write software for test rigs and hardware interfacing.

Responsibilities

• Build fixtures, jigs, racks, and handling equipment for the line.
• Design workholding and instrumented assembly stations.
• Develop end-of-line testers and automated test rigs.
• Design calibration rigs and dynos for actuator performance.
• Define PFMEAs and control plans; drive data analytics for yield.
