Job summary

Noblis MSD is seeking a Controls Systems Software Engineer to support a U.S. Navy program. Based at the Philadelphia Naval Yard, this role offers a hybrid 50/50 work arrangement with travel to shipyards for installations, testing and events.

You will grow into a subject matter expert in marine Machinery Control Systems, performing software updates, reviews and integration to ensure SEP-compliant delivery of software products for naval applications. A Secret Clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a relevant STEM/Engineering degree.
  • 1+ years of experience in an engineering-related field.
  • Software development experience using C, C++, C#, .Net, or Java.
  • U.S. Citizen with an active Secret Clearance, or ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.
  • 20-25% travel required (primarily to Pascagoula, MS and San Diego, CA; estimate:1 week per month).

Responsibilities

  • Grow into a subject matter expert in marine Machinery Control Systems interfacing with propulsion, electrical and auxiliary systems.
  • Perform software updates, design and implementation reviews, testing, deployment, configuration management, and troubleshooting per SEP.
  • Provide engineering and software engineering, integration, and testing including technical analysis and test tool development.
  • Review and provide advice on technical documentation for system development optimization.
  • Offer assessment and mitigation on system development, improvements, and technical support efforts.
  • Support transition of development to production and conduct verification/validation testing.
