Job summary

CAC I International is seeking a Naval Marine Engineer to support Navy/MSC/USCG surface ships, focusing on HM&E systems. The role involves design, analysis, and documentation across ship systems, with a hybrid work option (2-3 days remote) for local candidates in the DMV area or those willing to relocate.

Candidates should have 7+ years of experience, a mechanical/ marine- related BS, and familiarity with MIL standards and CAD tools such as AutoCAD and Navisworks. A Secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical, Marine, Aerospace or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in naval/marine engineering.
  • Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and mechanics of materials.
  • Ability to analyze mechanical problems and troubleshoot proactively.
  • Experience with Navy shock, vibration and EMI requirements.
  • Proficiency with Navy MSC/USN/USCG ship design standards and related CAD tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop marine auxiliary and piping systems; review design docs and ship system specs.
  • Review mechanical, electrical propulsion, and auxiliary systems; prepare data packs.
  • Provide system design, modeling, calculations, and drawing updates per standards.
  • Plan and evaluate auxiliary systems, components, controls, engines, and thermal hydraulics.
  • Review CDRLs/change paperwork; track issues on the LPD platform related to EMI.
