Job summary

MSHS Pacific Power Group is hiring a Marine Field Service Technician to service MTU engines across the San Francisco Bay Area. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain marine diesel engines, conduct sea trials, and ensure accurate service records while growing your skills through the Power and Propel U program.

The role involves frequent travel within the territory, with potential international assignments, and training apprentices. A strong background in MTU engines and diagnostics is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in high speed marine engine repair.
• Strong MTU engine experience.
• Experience with MTU MCS/RCS electronics and Diasys software.
• Experience with tools and technical diagnostics.
• Strong laptop/PC skills for diagnostics and software applications.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and read service manuals.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with marine clients, supporting our company’s continued growth in the San Francisco Bay Area.
• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on MTU engines in various marine applications.
• Conduct sea trials and verify engine performance, making necessary adjustments as needed.
• Maintain service records and documentation to ensure operational efficiency.
• Provide guidance, assistance, and training to apprentice marine technicians.
• Travel within the assigned region and occasionally outside the area, including potential international assignments.

Salary Range: $56.03 - $62.00 per hour

Travel: Field Position

About The Role

In this role, you will:

Preferred Work Experience And Attributes

We are looking for someone with:

• 5+ years of experience in high speed marine engine repair, with strong MTU engine experience.
• Experience with MTU MCS/RCS electronics and Diasys software (preferred).
• Experience with tools and technical diagnostics.
• Strong laptop/PC skills for diagnostics and software applications.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and read service manuals.
• A passion for working within a cross‑functional team environment in a dynamic industry.

Other Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (technical schooling is a plus).
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license and ability to be insured.
• Own set of mechanic tools.
• Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is a plus.
• Ability to complete company‑provided manufacturer training (online and in person).

Travel & Mobility

• Frequent travel within an assigned territory (AOR), with potential travel outside the region.

Salary & Benefits

Salary: $56.03 to $62.00 per hour, based on skills and experience.
