Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a Marine Field Service Engineer to lead complex field assignments including installation, modification, testing, inspection, and repair of ABB products for marine and port applications. The role may coordinate with other groups to meet customer commitments and improve operations.

The position supports the Marine and Ports Division in Miramar, FL or Houston, TX with a hybrid work model. Extensive field work and on-site collaboration with customer crews are required.

Qualifications

• Four or more years of experience in related field.
• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related electrical technical field is preferred.
• Familiarity with marine/offshore work environment and procedures.
• Experience in marine power generation and power distribution.
• Preferred experience with ABB marine equipment.
• Ship electrician experience or experience from shipyards.

Responsibilities

• Installs, modifies, tests, repairs or inspects ABB products and equipment (liquid cooled VFDs, low and medium voltage, automation systems).
• Coordinates complex engineering activities for field projects.
• Interprets drawings/schematics and makes field changes as needed.
• Participates in training and expands technical knowledge.
• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment leveraging experience.
