Job summary

Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine seeks a faculty member focused on engineering principles and technologies used in marine and power engineering to join our department and contribute to teaching, advising, scholarship, and service. Teaching is central and volunteer engagement supports administrative activities and sharing expertise.

The ideal candidate will teach undergraduate courses, advise students, participate in seminars, and collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology or engineering operations.
  • Professional experience applying engineering principle to solve problems or design components or systems.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Teach at undergraduate level in areas allocated by the Department Head or Dean; develop high quality curriculum and learning materials.
  • Participate in departmental and faculty seminars to share research outcomes and foster interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Develop, administer and grade exams and assessments; inform students of progress.
  • Contribute to committees and working groups within the department or Academy.
  • Maintain continuing professional development.
  • Maintain currency of TWIC/USCG/STCW licenses and certifications (if applicable).
  • Provide support of the Academy's training curriculum.
