The Project Engineer will receive supervision and guidance related to overall objectives, critical issues, emerging concepts, and policy matters, while independently handling most day‑to‑day technical challenges. Direction will be provided as needed for unusual or unforeseen project developments.

The work you’ll do:
  • Lead structural engineering projects from concept through completion, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget goals are met
  • Serve as primary point of contact with clients, coordinating design objectives, progress updates, and project deliverables
  • Supervise and mentor engineering and technical staff assigned to structural projects
  • Analyze complex structural issues and develop innovative or refined design methods and procedures
  • Represent the firm at project meetings, design charrettes, and industry conferences as needed
  • Plan, organize, and manage structural design activities for projects of significant size and complexity
  • Direct the structural components of large, multi‑disciplinary projects in collaboration with other disciplines
  • Apply advanced knowledge of structural systems, load paths, materials behavior, and applicable codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE, AISC, ACI)
  • Ensure designs align with client goals, regulatory requirements and internal quality management standards
What you will bring to our firm:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering required
  • Experience managing multi‑disciplined design projects
  • Successful experience in leading engineering teams (providing purpose, direction, and motivation)
  • Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues and client representatives
  • Detailed knowledge of project management methods and activities
  • Understanding of cost/schedule control through Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and various scheduling techniques
  • Software experience: STAAD Pro, SPMats, SPColumn, Lpile, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Actively engages multiple perspectives when solving problems, seeks to learn from peers, and encourages reciprocal learning among team members.
What we prefer you bring:
  • 5‑10 years of industry experience in structural engineering with a concentration in marine structures (preferable)
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure, Maryland License preferred
Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $115,000 - $150,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
