Job summary

Chevron USA - Marine seeks a Third Assistant Engineer for duty on a US Flag fleet vessel. Responsibilities include engine watch, maintenance, and compliance with safety protocols per STCW, ISM and ISPS. Requires USCG Third Assistant Engineer license, Merchant Mariner Document, Passport and TWIC.

Qualifications

• Must hold current United States Coast Guard License (Motor Vessels)
• Merchant Mariners Document and TWIC required
• Passport and TWIC are required

Responsibilities

• Handles engine department watch standing duties, supervising and controlling vessel machinery and equipment.
• Oversees loading of engine department stores, bunkers and water.
• Ensures PPE compliance and safety instructions are followed in engine room.
• Supervise and assist unlicensed personnel (machinist and utility).
• Maintenance and troubleshooting of engine room equipment; inspect and plan preventative maintenance across systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, electrical).
• Perform other marine duties per STCW, ISM, ISPS and Chevron procedures to ensure safety of vessel, crew and cargo.
• Attend required classes to maintain certificates of competency per STCW, ISM, ISPS, and Chevron policies.
• Participate in company safety programs and audits.
• Serve at least one year as licensed engineer on vessels with unlimited horsepower.
• Maintain working knowledge of USCG and international regs (MARPOL, SOLAS, ISGOTT).
