Job summary

Chevron USA - Marine is hiring a Third Assistant Engineer for one of its US Flag fleet vessels. The role includes watchstanding, supervising engine room operations, and overseeing loading of stores and bunkers.

Must hold a United States Coast Guard license, Merchant Mariner Document, TWIC, passport, and other required endorsements. Applicants will participate in safety programs and required training; eligible for rotation around 75 days per voyage with 30 days vacation accrual.

Qualifications

• Must hold USCG Third Assistant Engineer license for Motor Vessels of any horsepower.
• Merchant Mariners Document and related endorsements required.
• Advanced Firefighting, Basic Safety Training, VPDSD and Tankerman endorsements must be current.

Responsibilities

• Watch and supervise engine department machinery and equipment.
• Oversee loading of engine dept stores, bunkers and water.
• Ensure PPE compliance and safety instructions are followed.
• Supervise unlicensed machinist and utility personnel.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of engine room systems (pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical, electrical).
• Complete required STCW, ISM, ISPS training and Chevron procedures.
