The University System of New Hampshire invites applications for a Research Project Engineer to join AMEC's team in Portsmouth, NH, and collaborate with UNH partners to advance marine energy R&D and test facilities.

The role focuses on deploying and testing marine energy devices, developing instrumentation and data acquisition, coordinating with national laboratories, and supporting accreditation efforts for open-water test sites under IEC standards. Travel to sponsor sites may be required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in ocean or mechanical engineering with at least five years of related experience.
  • Experience in R&D environment, instrumentation/ocean instrumentation.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks/CAD, LabVIEW, Python, and Matlab.

Responsibilities

  • Deployment and open-water testing of marine energy devices at AMEC facilities.
  • Support design and modification of marine energy devices and OSTEC components.
  • Develop and implement instrumentation, sensor layout, and data acquisition strategies.
  • Collaborate with partner institutions and national laboratories on testing and model validation.
  • Contribute to accreditation efforts for IEC standards at UNH tidal test sites.
