The University System of New Hampshire invites applications for a Senior Research Technician and Lab Manager in the Fish and Movement Ecology Lab. The role supports field projects across coastal NH/ME waters and freshwater systems, including operating small vessels and handling fisheries gear.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in biology, marine science, or related field.
  • Experience with field work in coastal, estuarine, and freshwater environments.
  • Comfortable with data entry in Microsoft Excel and organizing field/lab records.
  • Experience operating small boats or vessels used in field research.
  • Willingness to travel seasonally and work in challenging conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or assist field projects across streams, rivers, estuaries, and coastal environments.
  • Coordinate and manage logistics of field and research activities.
  • Train students and technicians in field protocols and data collection.
  • Perform general lab management tasks and assist in permit applications and reporting.
