Job summary

THOR Solutions seeks a Journeyman-Level Marine Electronics Engineer to support the USCG Ship Design Team in Washington, DC. The role focuses on interior communications, machinery control systems, power management, and propulsion control integration.

The position requires 3+ years of relevant experience, DoD IAT II certs, and strong communication skills, with onsite work at USCG HQ and limited travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical/engineering or marine discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
• At least three (3) years of recent, relevant professional experience developing and integrating Internal Communications, Shipboard Telephone, Announcing, and Alarm Systems.
• Meets DoD IAT Level II Baseline Certification requirements (one active cert from: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CASP CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH).

Responsibilities

• Conduct design of electric and electronic systems, study power generation and distribution, centralized machinery monitoring and control.
• Apply engineering principles to develop and evaluate moderately complex technical reports related to C5I systems onboard USCG ships.
• Review and evaluate the effect of new and/or modified electronics on overall system performance.
• Review and adjudicate system design specifications, test requirements, Departures from Specification (DFS's), Request for Waiver (RFW), Engineering Changes (EC's).
