Job summary

THOR Solutions, LLC is seeking a Journeyman-Level Marine Electronics Engineer in Washington, DC to support the USCG Ship Design Team. The role focuses on Interior Communications, machinery control systems, and propulsion control development.

The ideal candidate will have experience in electric/electronic systems design, power management, and integration of shipboard electronics, with a focus on C5I systems and related standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in System Architecture, Electronics, Marine Engineering or related discipline (ABET-accredited).
• At least three years of experience developing and integrating Internal Communications, Shipboard Telephone, Announcing, and Alarm Systems.
• DoD IAT Level II Baseline Certification (one of listed certifications).
• Familiarity with USN, USCG, ABS and/or commercial ship design rules and regulations.
• Proficient with common productivity software.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design electric and electronic systems; study power generation and distribution; monitor and control machinery.
• Develop and evaluate technical reports for C5I systems on USCG ships.
• Review effects of new/modifications on system performance and compliance.
• Evaluate specifications, test requirements, DFSs, RFWs, ECs.
